does anyone know if any of the after market GPS systems also calculate the MPG related to your current speed/maneuverability? i was told no by the Ford dealer (I'm still looking at the Ford Escape). I found a 2006 used with only 6K mileage but it doesn't have they system --- the guy selling it says there are products you can buy that will show the info .

Tue, May 1, 2007 - 11:29 AMThe product(s) I know of aren't GPS systems, but do tie into the electronics of your vehicle to calculate MPG, read codes, etc. The one I recommend is ScanGauge:

because it's relatively inexpensive and the owner/developer is realllllllly great about tech support, bug fixes, and updates/upgrades.
I repeat, it's NOT a GPS system or a NAV system; I don't know of any of those that will also calculate fuel economy.
